Project: Autonomous Fire Tracking and Extinguishing Robot

Abstract:

The BDS (Automated Fire Tracking and Extinguishing System) addresses the urgent need for effective fire detection and suppression. Utilizing a thermal camera, BDS autonomously tracks and approaches heat sources with a feedback algorithm that ensures precise targeting. A key challenge was enabling the robot to ascend stairs without losing stability, which we overcame through extensive trials, ensuring reliable mobility over obstacles. Our system successfully extinguishes fires by accurately directing extinguishing agents, as demonstrated in simulations. Market analysis shows BDS’s potential due to its cost-effectiveness, automation, and ease of installation, making it suitable for multi-residential buildings and high-risk areas. By collaborating with government bodies, BDS aims to enhance public safety and minimize fire-related losses.
